What are the secrets of finding a job?

FFE11FB4-343A-4F5A-9973-C25D44F19329In this first webinar: Caree in our OPEN2020 series international headhunter Tony Talbot gives advice to Westminster students about finding a job in today’s job market. He looks at the nature of the job market today, the hidden job market, networking and visibility, and targeting your efforts.

Tony points out that the average job opening attracts 250 applications while 75% of hiring or recruitment managers use recruitment and/or applicant tracking software in the process, and only 2% of applicants get called for an interview. This was before COVID! As he suggests there needs to be a better way of finding a job.

It doesn’t matter what sector you are interested in, the principles remain the same.

In this webinar we have asked Tony Talbot to explore better alternatives to merely responding to a job ad, and we talk to him about the ways that our Westminster students can take advantage of this.

Tony Talbot has 20 years experience as an international head hunter, and now runs MindSet Search. His website is CareerMoveSecrets.com

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
